On the heels of a successful second accelerator class, SVG Partners announced that Wells Fargo, Yamaha, Panasonic, and SAP have joined the THRIVE AgTech Program. In response to its growing partner base and a 500-strong startup community, SVG Partners has created the THRIVE III Open Innovation program to connect the expertise of tech companies to on-the-ground knowledge of agricultural companies, the financial backing of investors, and the innovation of entrepreneurs.
THRIVE’S roots go back to the Steinbeck Innovation Center in Salinas, CA with the original concept of making the Salinas Valley the future AgTech hub of the world. In 2012, the City of Salinas seeded the Steinbeck Innovation Cluster in an innovative partnership process, launching an entirely new model for economic growth support by local government and leading an exciting partnership with regional business and academic visionaries. As part of these ongoing efforts, THRIVE leads industry innovation and entrepreneurship programs in the region.
